We, The First Baptist Church of Baltimore, are a ministering fellowship of believers in the Lord, Jesus Christ. We believe that we have been called to greatness and that greatness is best expressed in ministry, for the greatest must be the least and the servant of all. We are a place of spiritual refuge, an OASIS in the wilderness, where whosoever will may come and be blest, and where believers are free to worship God in the liberty where with Christ hath made us free. We are encouragers of one another. We believe that there are varieties of gifts, of service and of workings but the same Spirit, the same Lord, and the same God who inspires them all in everyone. I believe that every member must develop and exercise these gifts to the full benefit of God, others and themselves. We are a loving, friendly family that believes in each other and works toward the strengthening of members in relation to each other, the community and the world. We believe that God has given to us his Word to be "a lamp unto our feet and a light unto our way.” We are the keepers of that Word and that Word bears witness of us and keeps fellowship with us. We believe that God has given to us a song and the music and the melody of our hearts express the uniqueness and diversity of our religious experience. We believe that we must grow if we would long endure to carry out the work of our Lord ... in grace, faith, virtue, knowledge, self-control, steadfastness, godliness, brotherly affection and love. We must win the lost to Christ and redeem our time on the stage of life.
